Spring and autumn give the easiest conditions in Charlotte, roughly April to May and September to October. But a polyaspartic system installs successfully in all twelve months here, including January. What Each Season Actually Means for Your Job
Spring is the easiest and the busiest
April and May give the widest working window of the year in Charlotte: mild slab temperatures, moderate humidity, and dew point well clear of the concrete by mid-morning. Everyone knows it, which is why lead times stretch to 3 to 5 weeks and the best dates go early. If you want a spring install, enquire in February.
Summer works, with a later start time
Heat is not the problem. Condensation is. Slabs hold overnight cool while the air warms fast, and when the surface sits within 5°F of the dew point there is invisible moisture on the concrete that will destroy adhesion. The fix is simply to start at ten or eleven instead of seven, and to mix smaller batches once the pot life shortens.
Autumn matches spring and fills up faster
September and October give the same conditions as spring with the added pressure of homeowners wanting the garage finished before the holidays. It is the window that books out furthest ahead in our schedule, so treat October as something to reserve in August.
Winter is the value window, with one condition
January and February are quiet, and a polyaspartic system cures down to around 0°F, so the work goes ahead normally. The condition is the system: standard epoxy below 50°F in an unheated garage is unreliable and slow, and we will not install it without heat. If you are set on epoxy, wait for spring. If you are open to polyaspartic, winter gets you booked within days.
A new build slab needs its own clock
Concrete poured within the last 30 days is still releasing water from the mix and is not ready for any coating regardless of the month. We want a minimum of 28 to 30 days and a slab moisture reading before we quote a system. On a new Charlotte build this often matters more than the season does.

Remember the Job Is Indoors
People plan a garage coating the way they would plan a driveway seal or exterior paint, watching the forecast for a dry stretch. A garage is enclosed, so rain on the day is close to irrelevant. What the weather does is change the slab, and the slab is what we measure.
Two readings decide the morning. Slab surface temperature against dew point tells us whether invisible condensation is sitting on the concrete right now. Slab internal relative humidity, taken with probes set into the concrete, tells us whether vapour is going to push up through the floor for years to come. Above roughly 75 to 80% internal RH we specify a moisture-mitigating primer at $0.50–0.75 per square foot before anything else goes down.
Charlotte weather feeds into the second reading in a way that is easy to miss. Piedmont clay drains slowly and holds water against the foundation for days after heavy rain, so a wet fortnight in March genuinely raises slab moisture readings even though the garage never got wet. That is a reason to test rather than a reason to reschedule.
